Halloween: all films of the horror saga ranked from best to worst!

“Halloween Kills” sounding the eternal return of the legendary legendary boogeyman, this is the opportunity to draw up a small ranking of the films of the saga according to your notes. From the best to the worst!

With Halloween Kills, Michael Myers, the legendary boogeyman, returns from the dead for the twelfth time since his first appearance in John Carpenter’s masterpiece released in 1978. When we say that he is indestructible .. Although the character is absent from a film of the saga, Halloween III, attached quite opportunistically by the producers at the time.

Suddenly it is precisely the occasion to make a small classification of all the films of the saga, from the best to the worst! Besides, we did not voluntarily put the new opus, just released, whose rating would not be significant.

1 – Halloween, the night of the masks (1978)

Splendor Films

the masterpiece of John carpenter is at the top of the ranking, with an average of 3.69 stars / 5. It is also logically the one with the most ratings: nearly 8,400!

2 – Halloween (2007)

Dimension Films

The reinterpretation of the myth of the killer signed by Rob Zombie and released in 2007 is Silver Medal, with an average of 3.22 stars / 5. A rather solid work, moreover.

3 – Halloween (2018 version)

Blumhouse Productions / Universal Pictures

The Halloween version 2018, directed by David Gordon Green, obtains an average spectator score of 3.07 / 5. Bronze medal!

Halloween II (1981)

Universal Pictures

The sequel to Carpenter’s film, Halloween II, released three years later and signed by Rick Rosenthal, is doing quite honorably with an average of 2.74 / 5.

5 – Halloween II (2009)

Dimension Films

Continuation of the first part of Rob zombie, this Halloween II released in 2009 collects an average spectator of 2.43 / 5.

6 – Halloween, 20 years later (1998)

Dimension Films

Signed by Steve Miner, Halloween 20 years later obtains an average spectator rating of 2.22 / 5.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)

Trancas International Films

Ten years after his bloody exploits, Michael Myers returns under the leadership of Dwight H. Little. Donald Pleasence also returns in his role of Dr Loomis, which he had endorsed in the opus released in 1981 and of course in the matrix work of John carpenter. The film scores an average of 2.11 / 5.

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)

Just a year after the previous installment, Michael Myers seeks revenge … But this Halloween 5 frankly draws to the line, and the note suffers. An average spectator of barely 1.75 / 5 …

Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)

Miramax Films

The producers continue to flush the Halloween franchise, and the rating plunges even more … Released in 1995, this Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers gets an average audience of 1.62 / 5.

Halloween Resurrection (2002)

Dimension Films

Yet signed by Rick rosenthal, the director who was behind Halloween ii (and incidentally was his first feature film as a director), this Halloween resurrection is largely drinking the cup, with an average viewer of 1.59 / 5.

Halloween III: Blood of the Sorcerer (1982)

Dino De Laurentiis Productions / Universal Pictures

Without surprise, Halloween III, the sorcerer’s blood is the worst film of the saga, with an average viewership of 1.52 / 5. This film follows on from The night of the masks of John carpenter (1978) and Halloween 2 of Rick rosenthal (1981), but has no connection with them, apart from the theme of the Halloween party. It is the only film of the saga in which Michael Myers does not appear. Moving away from the slasher genre, the focus, previously on a psychopathic killer, is now on a mad scientist against a background of witchcraft. And don’t box in the same category at all.
