ABC has just announced that Kate Walsh, who camped for 2 seasons Addison Montgomery, will return in season 18 of “Grey’s Anatomy” on the occasion of an arch of several episodes.
Season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy was marked by many returns of iconic characters from the medical series. Patrick Dempsey, Eric Dane or even TR Knight had come to say hello to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), who was in a coma following COVID.
And we must believe that the writers have not finished yet since after announcing the return last August of Kate Burton, alias Ellis Gray, it is the turn of Kate Walsh to resume her role of Addison Montgomery in the season 18 on the occasion of an arch of several episodes. The actress also confirmed the news via a video posted on Instagram.
Kate Walsh had made a remarkable arrival in Grey’s Anatomy on the occasion of the finale of season 1. For almost two seasons, Addison became one of the major characters of the series, which also earned her being the star of her own spin-off, Private Practice, which aired between 2007 and 2013 and which saw her leave Seattle to start a new chapter of her life in Los Angeles.
She of course returned several times to Seattle Grace for a few episodes. His last appearance took place in episode 13 of season 8 entitled “What if…”; which took the viewer into a parallel universe.
For now, the intrigue around the return of Addison, who we recall is a surgeon specializing in gynecology and neonatology, has not yet been revealed.
Kate Walsh is not the only actress to arrive in Grey’s Anatomy for season 18. In addition to Kate Burton, who will also reprise her role for a few episodes, ABC has also announced that Peter Gallagher will join the medical series .
The actor, who camped the iconic Sandy Cohen in Newport Beach, will play Dr. Alan Hamilton, a doctor who knew Ellis Gray.
Season 18 of Grey’s Anatomy will air from September 30 in the United States. Season 17, still unpublished in France, should arrive in the coming months on TF1.
