Nearly a decade after Michel Gondry’s version, a new film focusing on the adventures of the Green Hornet (Le Frelon Vert) and his sidekick Kato is currently in preparation. According to information from the Deadline site, Universal Pictures and Amasa Entertainment now team up to develop the soberly titled The Green Hornet and Kato, after the characters’ rights have been acquired by Universal. A project that seems to put much aside the one announced in 2016 by Paramount with Gavin O’Connor in the making.
Michel Gondry and superhero movies: the Green Hornet experience, what he thinks of Batman …
The adventures of the Green Hornet, a ruthless masked vigilante who fights crime at night with the martial arts expert Kato, were created in 1936. First heroes of radio shows, the characters were then the stars of a cult series in 1966, which allowed Bruce Lee to experience success in the United States. In 2011, Michel Gondry signs a film adaptation led by Seth Rogen and Jay Chou, which brings in nearly $ 230 million in revenue worldwide.
