Gérard Depardieu was indicted on December 16 for “rape” and “sexual assault” that he allegedly committed on August 7 and 13, 2018 on an actress and dancer in her twenties. Information announced by a source close to the case and confirmed this Tuesday by a judicial source.

The actor, friend of the victim’s family and left free without judicial control, firmly contests these facts, while his lawyer, Me Hervé Témime, “deplores that this information is made public”. The plaintiff’s lawyer, Me Elodie Tuaillon-Hibon, asks for her part that “the privacy and privacy of (her) client be preserved”.

A CASE CLOSED WITHOUT CONTINUATION IN 2019 AND RELAUNCHED IN 2020

At the end of August 2018, the young actress had filed a complaint at the Lambesc gendarmerie, in Bouches-du-Rhône, denouncing having been raped twice a few days earlier at the star’s Parisian home, a private mansion in the 6th arrondissement.

After nine months of preliminary investigation, the Paris prosecutor’s office decided on June 4, 2019 to dismiss the complaint, considering that “the numerous investigations carried out within the framework of this procedure” had “not made it possible to characterize the offenses denounced in all their constituent elements”.

In mid-August 2020, the complainant had relaunched the case via a complaint with the constitution of civil party. This appeal allows the quasi-automatic appointment of an investigating judge to resume investigations.
