On The Verge – Monday September 6

The new school year is off to a good start for CANAL + with the release of On The Verge, Julie Delpy’s very first series. Available from this September 6 on myCANAL, the twelve 30-minute episodes take us away to a pre-Covid Los Angeles. There, four girlfriends in the midst of a midlife crisis have to marry their professional life with their family life… but their daily life quickly turns into a perilous and rock’n’roll mission.

We thus discover the adventures of Justine (Julie Delpy), French chef of a trendy restaurant, Anne (Elisabeth Shue), an underwater stylist, Ella (Alexia Landeau), mother of three children of three fathers different, and Yasmin (Sarah Jones) who tries in vain to get out of a maternity leave long… twelve years!

Friendship, new life trajectories, motherhood, political background, amorous emotions… On The Verge offers a new, vibrant, modern and non-judgmental look at the forties and fifties thanks to the sparkling eye of Julie Delpy.

The Last Letter from her lover – Tuesday, September 21

In 2020, Ellie, an ambitious journalist writing for a London daily, comes across a romantic correspondence dating from the 60s. Exchanges that unite Jennifer, wife of a wealthy industrialist, with Anthony, a journalist responsible for portraying the latter.

Upset and intrigued by this forbidden connection, Ellie leads the investigation and goes in search of these souls separated by their choices and the passage of time.

And to accompany the release of the film from September 21 on myCANAL, Shailene Woodley and Felicity Jones are the guests of Laurie Cholewa in Rencontres de Cinéma, broadcast at 7:10 pm the same day, unencrypted on CANAL +

Genera + ion – Thursday, September 30

Worn by actresses and actors such as the captivating Justice Smith headlining, but also Chloe East, Uly Schlesinger, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Martha Plimpton, Genera + ion unveils the portraits of a gang of high school students from Orange County , in California.
