TENET – Friday May 14

Unless you have spent the summer of 2020 holed up in a cave, you must have heard the word “Tenet” ringing in your ears many times. And for good reason, this mysterious name is the title of Christopher Nolan’s last film, and the only American blockbuster to be released in theaters at the end of the first confinement.

Having reached box office heights, this thriller mixes the codes of science fiction with those of espionage. Portrayed by John David Washington, the Protagonist of the story must manipulate the flow of time and turn it around in order to prevent a possible World War III.

Shot in 7 countries and winner of the Oscar for Best Scenery and Best Visual Effects, Tenet counts on the presence of Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh or even Clémence Poésy in its cast, and on that of Hans Zimmer on the music side. . Who says better ?

There, the perfect James Nesbitt (The Missing) plays Tom Brannick, esteemed policeman and widowed father looking after his daughter Izzy (Lola Petticrew) on his own. When a car is recovered from a lake, this top detective immediately sees similarities to a closed case concerning him personally.

An investigation that someone seems determined to reopen and in connection with the disappearance of his wife, which occurred 20 years earlier. This will bring back a dark past and perhaps even threaten the fragile peace found after the end of the Northern Irish conflict …

THE WAR OF THE WORLDS CHAPTER 2: THE CONFLICT – Monday, May 17

Launched in October 2019, The War of the Worlds is making its big comeback in spring 2021 with a new eagerly awaited season. Much more than an adaptation of HG Wells’ literary classic, the series is a true contemporary reinterpretation by Gilles Coulier and Richard Clark.

Broadcast only on CANAL + for 2 episodes every Monday evening for four weeks, from May 17, The War of the Worlds, Chapter 2: The Confrontation will lift the veil on the combat between humans and aliens.

In London, the survivors of the attack organize the Resistance. Bill (Gabriel Byrne) continues his research on aliens and will make some surprising discoveries. For their part, Chloé (Stéphane Caillard), Sacha (Mathieu Torloting) and Jonathan (Stephen Campbell Moore) are still looking for the latter’s family.
