Fast & Furious: Michael Caine in the cast of the 10th film? – Cinema News

Two months before the release in our dark rooms of Fast & Furious 9, Vin Diesel revealed that this opus would have a special link with the first film. The actor also announced that he would like to see Michael Caine play the father of the Shaw family.

In an interview with EW, Vin Diesel has revealed that Fast & Furious 9 has a special connection to the very first film in the saga released 20 years ago. The ninth installment will indeed take up a scene from Fast & Furious during which Dom emerges victorious from his first race against Brian (Paul Walker) in the streets of Los Angeles.

The actor and producer says: “What’s exciting about F9 is that we’re revisiting this moment but from a different perspective.

This scene should be included in a flashback in which Jakob, Dom’s brother, played by John Cena, appears in the crowd. A way to include the newcomer in the universe of the franchise and show that the latter has always followed his brother.

Vin Diesel explains: “The whole world is excited for the release of this film, but for those who have followed the franchise, it is even more special. Because if you remember the first part, now you are going to remember certain moments and understand them better. It’s really cool.

Seeing family members you never thought you would see – it will blow your mind. We wanted to know: where was Dom before he became Dom? What were his influences? It’s going to be a lot of storytelling and a lot of fun to watch. “

Michael Caine in the casting of the next parts?

The American media also asked the comedian which character he would like to include in order to continue building the mythology of the franchise. The latter then announced that he would like to appear the father of Deckard (Jason Statham) and Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) and that he would like Michael Caine to play him.

If I had to think about the direction we are taking for the next chapter, I think to myself that we could deepen the family relationships of the Shaw family and especially that ofHelen mirren and her husband. And to embody it I would choose Michael Caine. “

An announcement corroborated by the words of Jason Statham who announced, some time ago, that the writers wanted to include Papa Shaw in the saga.

In the meantime, Fast & Furious 9 is due out in our theaters on July 14th.
