In the slideshow above, we focus on these four stars who were in the credits of Fast & Furious 8 but who are absent from the ninth installment currently in theaters. Will we have the opportunity to see them again in a future opus of the franchise? With the latter, anything is possible!

Elsa Pataky – Elena Neves

Universal Pictures International France

Spanish actress Elsa Pataky portrayed, in four parts of the saga Fast & Furious, the character of the incorruptible Elena Neves, a member of the Rio de Janeiro police force. The one who was recruited by Luke Hobbs in Fast & Furious 5 and who had a boy born from her union with Dom, is killed in Fast & Furious 8 by Rhodes (Kristofer Hivju) after being kidnapped by Cipher (Charlize Theron). It is therefore difficult to imagine him returning to the screen, except via the possible use of flashbacks or by a scriptwriting sleight of hand which the saga has the secret …

Dwayne Johnson – Luke Hobbs

Universal Pictures International France

Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel a priori reconciled, one could hope that the first named, absent from Fast & Furious 9, come back in a future episode. Alas, the actor recently indicated that he would no longer resume his character of Luke Hobbs in the saga. “I wish them the best on FF9”, the bodybuilder star told The Hollywood Reporter. “And I wish them the best of luck on the 10th and 11th and all the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they’ll make without me.” Exit, therefore, Luke Hobbs in Fast & Furious, but nothing prevents to imagine him in a sequel to the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, without Vin Diesel around!

Scott Eastwood – Little Nobody

Universal Pictures International France

Joined the Fast & Furious franchise in the eighth part, where he played the right-hand man of Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) and helped Dom and his team get their hands on Cipher, Scott Eastwood did not reprise his role in Fast & Furious 9. At the end of FF8, the son of the great Clint, who we recently saw on the poster of An Angry Man (alongside … Jason Statham!), Congratulated himself with his mentor on the rescue of the son. by Dom. No reason, therefore, not to hope to see him again in the saga, especially since the 35-year-old actor has expressed his desire to find his character.

Jason Statham – Deckard Shaw

Universal Pictures International France

Present in the Fast & Furious saga since the sixth episode, the character of Deckard Shaw, who was entitled to his spin-off with Luke Hobbs, is not in the game for the ninth part. After his memorable scene in Fast & Furious 8 who saw him saving Dom’s little boy on Cypher’s plane, can we hope to see this bad-guy who became part of the “family” again in a new installment in the franchise? Our little finger tells us that yes, if you have been sitting in your chair for a bit at the end of Fast & Furious 9
