Fantastic beasts 3: filming stopped after a case of covid - teller report

The filming of Fantastic Beasts 3 continues the galleys. After the ousting of Johnny Depp, replaced by Mads Mikkelsen, following his court case with Amber Heard, the project is once again stopped because of the Covid-19. The cameras had already stopped shooting in March 2020 because of the first confinement.

Production of the Harry Potter spin-off has been suspended due to a positive case within the team. Warner Bros. sent a press release, relayed by Deadline, confirming the diagnosis. “As a precautionary measure, Fantastic Beasts 3 pauses filming. Work will resume later while respecting health recommendations”, the studio said. In the meantime, the member with Covid has been placed in isolation.

Fantastic Beasts 3: Mads Mikkelsen thinks it will be “difficult” to succeed Johnny Depp

Warner did not say who tested positive for the virus. Is this a person essential to the progress of the project as was the case for Robert pattinson and The Batman last September? This member was also able to be in direct contact with many people on the team and the studio prefers to stop everything to prevent the disease from spreading. Filming, which takes place in the studios of Leavesden, near London, is therefore stopped until further notice.

Note that the release date is currently maintained at July 13, 2022.
