The producer of Falcon and the Winter Soldier compares Countess Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) seen in Episode 5 to a darker version of Nick Fury. We tell you all about this new character.
The teams of Falcon and the Winter Soldier had teased the arrival in episode 5 of an important character, in the form of a cameo. It was therefore the Countess Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine, camped by the brilliant Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
This one appears just after the trial of John Walker, a soldier stripped of his status as Captain America after having beaten to death a Flag Smasher in front of hundreds of witnesses. Nothing is known about her, even though her intentions seem to be bad.
But in a recent interview given to the site of Marvel, series producer Nate Moore gives us some interesting clues about her: “Whenever we talked about Valentina with the writers, we presented her as a darker, funnier and more biting version of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson editor’s note). He is someone who cultivates secrecy and who is not afraid to act in this gray area, morally speaking. And he’s someone who may not be selfless by nature“.
It remains to be seen whether Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine is on the side of good or bad or if it depends on the interests that she earns from it. But regardless, this new character is going to have a big place in the MCU.
If rumors are to be believed, she could make a movie appearance in Black Widow. According to some fans, she is responsible for recruiting the Thunderbolts, a superhero team made up of former supervillains (like a Suicide Squad).
The latter could therefore carry out missions, using methods that are not necessarily legal. Allegra de la Fontaine therefore seems to have the US Agent and probably Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), the Russian spy and former Black Widow in her sights. A great team in the making.
