The thing about side tables is that they are neither a centerpiece nor the main attraction in a room. Yet, they play a major role in shaping the aesthetics of a space. Generally placed adjacent to a couch, bed, or sofa, a side table ensures that daily usage items are within easy reach. Apart from being an extension to your bed or sofa, the side table also acts as an assist to complement other furniture. Dubbed ‘Excalibur,’ the conceptual side table by renowned conceptual furniture designer Deniz Aktay meets all the criteria.
Excalibur side table brings a whimsical touch to your interior design. It not only goes well with existing furnishing but also maintains its own identity as an aesthetical element. But don’t mistake it to be a usual table. It rather is a major attraction in a room, thanks to its sleek and exquisite design.
It can be divided in three categories: the circular base, the cylindrical stand, and the cracked metal base. Don’t fret, it’s not actually cracked. The side table is poised on a crack-shaped thin black metal base, making it appear like it is stuck in the ground. The shape of these cracks is similar to that of a thunderbolt or the famous Excalibur plunged into the ground.

The cylindrical stand holds the tabletop and are both colored to underline the difference between the black cracks and the table. Causing multiple deceptions like being stuck in a broken floor, the side table is indeed a great addition to your home.
