Elite on Netflix: what to expect from season 5

Elite season 5: Completed on a dramatic note, Elite season 4 leaves many questions unanswered. Here is what we can already expect from season 5 of the Spanish series on Netflix.

While Netflix has offered a double ration of Elite with the Short Stories format and season 4, fans are already wondering when the fifth round of episodes, already ordered and already in production, will be able to land. If we will have to wait, given that the platform has not yet given a date, here is what we can already expect for season 5 of the Spanish series, which should be available in 2022 on Netflix.

New faces

The hugely popular Spanish teen drama by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona welcomes two new students to Las Encinas in season five, Argentine actress Valentina Zenere, seen in Soy Luna, and Brazilian actor André Lamoglia (Juacas).

But that’s not because a young French actor is also joining the cast of Elite. 18-year-old Adam Nourou has already appeared in the cinema in Turf in 2013 and Je suis à vous immediately in 2015.

It was his role in the Spanish-Beninese feature film Adù, available on Netflix, which propelled him to the rank of actor to follow. For his interpretation in this film recounting the migratory crisis in the Strait of Gibraltar, Adam Nourou was awarded a Goya for best male hope.

Departures .. and returns?

The final episode of season 4 of Elite is synonymous with the departure of Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) and Ander (Arón Piper). The two friends go on a road trip leaving the gang still in high school. Lonely, Samuel (Itzan Escamilla) and Rebeka (Claudia Salas) keep the secret of Guzmán, who killed Armando, the guy from Mencia who had assaulted Ari.

It would not be surprising if this new small wave of departures from the Spanish series is followed by another at the end of season 5. After Carla, Nadia, Lu, Valerio, Polo, Guzmán and Ander, who could well be the next to go? We’re betting on Samuel, who might eventually join Carla (Ester Expósito) after their heartbreaking Short Story special, and also Omar (Omar Ayuso), who might want to get back together with Ander when he returns.

Netflix

If the departures are linked in the series, fans are still hoping for returns of iconic characters like Lucrecia! Its interpreter Danna Paola is not at all closed to the idea, on the contrary. The actress thus told Los 40 Global Show : “I think Lu will come back. The door will always be open, she has her friends there. So if that happens at some point, it will be a big surprise.”

It is difficult to know if the return of Lu is possible in season 5 of Elite but it would not be impossible for her to return otherwise in the universe of the series. The creators have brought back Carla and Nadia (Mina El Hammani) in special episodes of the Special Short Stories mini-series. Danna Paola could potentially come back through this.

Another murder?

Each season of Elite his disappearance or his murder which the students of Las Encinas always manage to escape. And season 5 should be no exception if we are to believe the set photos posted on social networks.

On one of them, we can see Frenchman Adam Nourou and Omar Ayuso pulling a body out of the water. Is this the body of Armando, which Guzmán killed? Or is it a new victim of the Las Encinas gang stories?

In any case, it is indeed a corpse on the stolen photo of the shooting since Adam Nourou had posted a story from the script of episode 4 of season 5 on Instagram. And this episode is called “The Body”.

A sixth season?

Given the success of the Spanish series, it wouldn’t be surprising if Netflix is offering Elite a sixth season. For the moment, no information has been revealed but season 5 having been ordered before the shooting of season 4, it could be that the platform gives news rather quickly.

Carlos Montero has said several times that he wants to continue producing Elite as long as Netflix gives him the opportunity. And despite the departure of main actors, the co-showrunneur has always tried to breathe new life into each season.

For the actress Georgina Amorós, a season 6 is totally possible, as she explained to Sensacine: “We thought that Elite could not reinvent itself after the departure of the old characters, but we saw that it was perfectly possible and that in fact, the wind of fresh air was necessary.”
