This week, we are talking about imperial china, the little king and zombie idols in our 3 animated recommendations to discover on your specialized platforms!

Kingdom is set in the days of ancient China. The plot follows young Shin on his way to fulfilling his dream of becoming a Grand General. In this ancestral China, Shin comes from the state of Qin, which is in the grip of many upheavals both inside the kingdom and outside.

Indeed, the story takes place during the Warring States period, when China was divided into seven kingdoms: Qin, Zhao, Han, Wei, Chu, Yan and Qi. The story of Shin also follows the story of Ei Sei, the man who would later be known as Qin Shi Huang, the unifier of China.

Now that the 3 seasons of this fabulous anime are available on DNA and a 4th is coming in spring 2022, it is high time to immerse yourself in the adventure! If the animation of the first season can be disconcerting, you absolutely have to ignore this somewhat disappointing aspect to be captivated by this epic story. The series makes up for this graphical flaw with a gripping, very well-written story, focusing more on military strategies than epic battles.

In addition, we do not see every day a Japanese anime whose action takes place in the heart of ancient China. In addition, from season 2, a very clear improvement in graphics gives all its letters of nobility to a story of remarkable magnitude. Kingdom is taken from the manga written and drawn by Yasuhisa Hara, a real phenomenon in the Land of the Rising Sun since its publication in 2006.

Addictive and impactful, Kingdom recalls in some ways the raw violence of Ken the Survivor and Game of Thrones, as well as the latter’s political conspiracies. Between the purely politico-tactical stories and the sometimes frantic action, the anime will know how to rejoice the souls eager for grandiloquence and thrills.

In a world where kings are ranked among themselves, young Prince Bojji unfortunately starts at the bottom of the ladder. Naive, deaf and frail, his people do not count on him.

But his meeting with Kage, a low-level monster with a big heart, will ignite in him a little spark of courage. Together everything becomes possible, including making Bojji climb to the top of the ranking of kings!

Small man but big responsibilities! How not to melt in front of the adorable prince Bodge who, far from the worries of his kingdom, thinks only of having fun? Hard ! But beware, the comedic adventures of this unusual hero could turn out to be more surprising than they appear.

Indeed, don’t be fooled by the childish aspect of this anime. Categorized as seinen and not recommended for a young audience, Ranking of Kings may be the new Made in Abyss which surprised us so much in 2018. Undoubtedly one of the biggest surprises of the fall outings, not to be missed.

And if you are VF lovers, a dubbed version is offered in simulcast at the same time as the original version. At the casting, the actress Brigitte Lecordier (in particular the French voice of Son Goku) lends her stamp to the young prince, Bodge!

Seven young girls from different eras and ordinary find themselves transformed into zombies by a mysterious man on the day of their death.

Back in a world infested with other walking corpses, Sakura Minamoto, who wanted to become a singer before her accident, decides to form a group of idols with her sisters. Welcome to the strange prefecture of Saga!

Who said horror and music don’t mix? This anime with an original script and a crazy atmosphere plays on codes and offers us a unique horror musical! Its colorful animation and its undead heroines offer us a fabulous contrast.

But Zombie Land Saga is not all about humor and dread. On the occasion of a few returns to the past, you will also have the opportunity to experience beautiful sequences of emotions over the 2 seasons already available. Enough to have a good time while waiting for the arrival of the sequel film announced this year.

Because, after all, who said you have to be alive to become an idol?
