As the second anniversary of its launch in France approaches, the platform still has some great surprises in store for viewers. To make your mouth water, here are some of the series to discover soon on Disney+!


Obi-Wan Kenobi – Friday, May 27

Among the most anticipated novelties on the platform, Obi-Wan Kenobi is the third Lucasfilm original series in the Star Wars universe, after The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The famous Jedi knight will once again be embodied by Ewan McGregor in these new adventures which will take place ten years after the events of Star Wars, episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Fifteen years after their last collaboration, this series also marks the great reunion between the 51-year-old actor and his costar Hayden Christensen, who will slip into Darth Vader’s costume. While the excitement of the fans is at its peak, they will still have to wait until Friday, May 27 to discover not one, but two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi!

Miss Marvel – Wednesday, June 8

The MCU is about to welcome a brand new superheroine. After WandaVision, Loki and more recently Moon Knight, Disney+ is unveiling its sixth original Marvel Studios series titled Miss Marvel. The story of Kamala Khan, a teenager of Muslim faith and a big fan of superheroes (especially Captain Marvel), who will discover cosmic superpowers…

The young actress Iman Vellani is offered here her first role, and not the least. Alongside Aramis Knight (Runt), Zenobia Shroff (The Affair) and Matt Lintz (The Walking Dead), she joins the long list of stars in the Marvel universe. She will also give the reply to Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson in the film The Marvels, expected in cinemas in 2023.

Oussekine – Coming soon

After Week-end Family and Para//èles, Disney + shines the spotlight on a new original French series which should not go unnoticed. Presented at the end of the last Series Mania festival, Oussekine returns in four episodes to the tragic events of December 5, 1986 which led to the death of student Malik Oussekine (Sayyid El Alami).

The heartbreaking series also looks at the dramatic consequences of his death for his family: his mother Aïcha (Hiam Abbass), his brothers Ben Amar (Malek Lamraoui) and Mohamed (Tewfik Jallab) and his sisters Fatna (Naidra Ayadi) and Sarah ( Mouna Soualem), all in search of truth and justice. An original creation by Antoine Chevrollier (Le Bureau des legendes) to be discovered soon.


Single Drunk Female – Wednesday April 6th

Exclusive to the platform, the new original series Single Drunk Female tackles the themes of addiction and sobriety among young people with humor and sincerity. Twenty-something Samantha Fink (Sofia Black-D’Elia) realizes she has a problem with alcohol following an accident that nearly cost her life.

Back from rehab, the young woman has to face her daily life surrounded by the temptations that once led her to drink and her past that resurfaces. But these trials could well allow her to discover the best of herself. The ten episodes, which also feature Ally Sheedy (Breakfast Club), Rebecca Henderson (Russian Doll), Sasha Compère and Lily Mae Harrington, will all be available from April 6.

The Dropout – Wednesday, April 20

True stories fascinate viewers again and again. After the success of Dopesick, discover the meteoric rise and fall of entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout. At only 19 years old, the young woman embodied by Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!) founded the Theranos company to make medical care accessible to as many people as possible thanks to faster and cheaper diagnostic products.

While everything seems to be succeeding for her, blinded by an excessive ambition, she loses her empire after the publication of an article in the Wall Street Journal which calls into question the effectiveness of her technology. Naveen Andrews, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Kate Burton, Stephen Fry, William H. Macy and Laurie Metcalf star in this original series about this massive scam that has hit Silicon Valley. How I Met Your Father – Wednesday, May 11

It’s hard to miss the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, to be found in full on Disney+. In May, a new group of endearing friends arrives in turn on your screens. This time, Sophie tells her son the story of her meeting with his father… but not only!

From and with comedian Amy Schumer, get ready to follow Beth’s upset daily life in the comedy Life & Beth. Following an incident that forces him to confront the past, his seemingly ideal life is shattered. She will then try to refocus on herself and live in a more authentic way, in these ten episodes filled with humor.

Amy Schumer reveals a new facet of her personality, alongside Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim), Yamaneika Saunders and Michael Rapaport (Atypical). Also at the helm, the actress and screenwriter directed four episodes of the series. Discover the result on May 18 on Disney+.

By God’s Order – Coming Soon

Created, written, produced and directed by Dustin Lance Black (2009 Best Screenplay Oscar winner for Harvey Milk), the original miniseries By God’s Order stars Andrew Garfield as Mormon Inspector Jeb Pyre. The man is in charge of a tragic case: the murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty and her baby in a residential suburb of Salt Lake City in 1984.

Inspired by real events, this investigation will upset Jeb Pyre and push him to question his faith. Andrew Garfield, who viewers recently saw in Through the Eyes of Tammy Faye, stars opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones, Sam Worthington, Wyatt Russell and Denise Gough in this drama adapted from Jon Krakauer’s bestseller. The seven episodes will soon be available exclusively on Disney+.
