Disney +: doctor doogie, grey's anatomy… 5 medical series to see on the platform -...

Always popular with viewers, medical series are staple of the small screen. On Disney +, the youngest Doctor Doogie rubs shoulders with the hit Grey’s Anatomy, the hilarious Scrubs and the touching The Red Bracelets.

Doctor Doogie

Launched on September 8 on the platform Disney +, Doctor Doogie revisits the hit ’90s medical series that brought Neil Patrick Harris to the general public. In the title role of the gifted young doctor once played by the actor, we find Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi), only 17 years old.

In this remake, Lahela Kameāloha, alias Doogie as her colleagues call her, must learn to juggle her professional life in the hospital and the vagaries of her daily life as a teenager. The young actress is surrounded by Jason Scott Lee (Mulan) and Kathleen Rose Perkins (Big Shot) in the roles of her parents. The comedy-drama Doctor Doogie airs on a weekly basis.

Grey’s Anatomy

Among the essential medical series, if not THE most essential to date, we no longer present Grey’s Anatomy. With no less than 17 seasons to his credit, and an 18th soon to be broadcast across the Atlantic, this success signed by Shonda Rhimes continues to fascinate fans of the first hour as well as new insiders.

Follow the daily lives of Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo), Derek Sheperd (Patrick Dempsey), Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and the other Seattle Grace Hospital doctors in the first sixteen seasons of the series available on Disney + . Also find the Private Practice and Station 19 spin-offs on the platform.

In another style, and yet just as memorable, Bill Lawrence’s sitcom takes an offbeat and humorous look at the doctors at the Sacré-Coeur hospital, in particular the trio of interns formed by JD ( Zach Braff), Turk (Donald Faison) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke), and their nurse friend Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes).

A subtle blend of drama and comedy (and for that, JD’s boundless imagination can be counted on!), Scrubs is available in full on Disney +. Be careful not to cross the concierge’s road, he could play a trick on you!

The Resident

In recent years, medical series have multiplied on the small screen, each approaching the hospital world with more or less originality. The Resident, launched in 2018, shines a light on the reality of the American healthcare system through the experience of an idealistic young doctor who will have to team up with the brilliant, but arrogant, Doctor Conrad Hawkins.

While the first two seasons of the series worn by Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp and Manish Dayal are to be found on Disney +, the fifth will soon be released in the United States.

The Red Bracelets

Unlike its sisters, the very successful Les Bracelets Rouges does not feature heroes in white coats, but a group of young adolescent patients forced to fight the disease on a daily basis. Adapted from the Spanish series Polseres Vermelles, it delivers a touching story that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Particularly thanks to its distribution of young talents, Audran Cattin, Tom Rivoire and Louna Espinosa to name a few, Les Bracelets Rouges met with great success when it was broadcast on French television, praised by the public as well as by the press. All three seasons can now be (re) discovered on the Disney + platform.
