Cult horror and sci-fi game released in 2008, which will be enriched by two sequels released respectively in 2011 and 2013, “Dead Space” is the subject of a remake, developed by the studio Motive. Electronic Arts has unveiled a teaser accompanying the announcement.
The rumor was already running for some time, Electronic Arts put an end to the (false) suspense last night, during its online event EA Play 2021, in which he presented the line-up of his upcoming titles. The sensational sci-fi horror game Dead space, released in 2008, is indeed the subject of a remake, under the leadership of the studio Motivates. With no release date scheduled at the moment, it’s slated for next-gen consoles, as well as PC.
Here is the teaser unveiled yesterday accompanying the announcement …
TPS sight shooter (3rd person) developed by the studio Visceral Games and released in 2008, Dead space was an absolutely awesome sci-fi horror game. For the record, we play Isaac Clarke, a simple engineer sent on a maintenance mission on the huge USG Ishimura spacecraft, before discovering the horror of the events that took place there.
The crew of the spaceship was slaughtered and infected with an alien plague and Nicole, Isaac’s fiancee, was on board at the time of the incident. Isaac is now alone with his tools and engineering skills to try to unravel the nightmarish mystery of what happened aboard the Ishimura. Trapped by hostile creatures called “necromorphs”, Isaac must fight for his survival, beset by abominable enemies but also by his own hallucinations caused by fear.
“Franchise Dead space had a huge impact on the survival horror genre when it first appeared 12 years ago, and I came to Motive first as a fan, keen to work on this particular game “ specifies Philippe Ducharme, main producer of this new Dead space, in the press release accompanying the announcement. This new version of the game is developed from the game engine Frostbite, the same one that is used by another big franchise of Electronic Arts, the series of Battlefield.
Big success at the time, the title will be enriched with two suites, released in 2011 and 2013 respectively; and even two animated films, Dead Space: Downfall, and Dead Space: Aftermath. There was even talk for a long time of a live adaptation, entrusted to the care of DJ Caruso.
For the anecdote, the game counted among its admirers Louis Leterrier, who was also at the time contacted by EA to ensure the promotion of Dead space 2 in several video modules. But also Big John, big fan of video games in front of the Eternal.
