Coda on Apple TV +: a touching trailer for the American remake of La Famille Bélier

The American remake of The Aries Family, CODA is revealed in a moving trailer. This family drama, written and directed by Siân Heder and which caused a sensation at the Sundance Festival, will be available August 13 on Apple TV +.

Sensation of the last Sundance Festival rewarded with 4 prizes, Coda is revealed with a trailer full of good feelings. This American remake of Eric Lartigau’s La Famille Bélier takes up the plot of the original French film and follows the journey of a high school student torn between her passion for music and her obligations to her deaf family.

The only member of her family not to be deaf, designated Coda (acronym for “Child Of Deaf Adults”, Ruby (Emilia Jones) acts as an interpreter for her parents (Marlee Matlin and Troy Kotsur) while helping them on the family fishing boat with her brother.

Discovering a gift for singing, Ruby wishes to apply to a prestigious music school, Encouraged by her partner Miles (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) and her teacher (Eugenio Derbez), the young woman finds herself however torn between her dreams and obligations that she believes owes her family.

Produced by Vendôme Pictures and Pathé, Coda was sold for twenty-five million dollars, a record! The feature film written and directed by Siân Heder will be available worldwide on the Apple TV + platform on August 13.
