Tahar Rahim will succeed Danièle Thompson as President of the 48th Cesar ceremony. This will be held on Friday February 24 at the Olympia.

This is Tahar Rahim, crowned Best Male Newcomer and Best Actor in 2010 for his masterful performance in A Prophet by Jacques Audiard, his first major film role.

He will thus succeed Roschdy Zem and Danièle Thompson, who respectively held this position in 2021 and 2022. “Tahar Rahim has led his career with finesse, moving towards rich, diverse and complex characters, and new experiences”the statement said.

César 2023: an important announcement concerning those implicated in acts of violence

Last Monday, the Académie des César took the decision to exclude from the ceremony any person implicated by justice “for acts of violence”. This announcement followed the case of Sofiane Bennacer, actor of the Amandiers indicted for rape.

And for the first time in the history of the Caesars, there should be no master or mistress of ceremonies.
