Among the biggest starts recorded by the platform since its launch, The Bridgerton Chronicle is one of Netflix’s biggest hits. While some choose to watch the series adapted from Julia Quinn’s books for its historical references, others are passionate about the exciting adventures of the couple formed by Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor).
The series follows the story of Daphne, the daughter of an influential upper-class London family during the British regency of the 19th century. Forced to attend balls to choose a suitor, she makes a deal with Simon, who agrees to pretend to be her lover in order to ward off single people who are determined to win the young woman’s heart.

Like Bridgerton, Outlander is the adaptation of a series of best-selling novels, and offers many steamy love scenes between its main characters, Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). The series brings a hint of modernity to the historical genre as the plot plunges its heroine from the 20th century right into the heart of the Jacobite uprisings of the mid-18th century, due to a trip to the past at the start of the first season.

This satirical series immerses us in the Russia of the 1700s, when Catherine II (Elle Fanning) went from the status of an unknown to that of Russian sovereign in the longest reign in history. The subject of many rumours, especially about her numerous infidelities, the Empress fiercely coveted the throne occupied by her husband, Tsar Peter III (Nicholas Hoult), whose assassination she organized in 1762.

The Dickinson series traces the life of the author as she really was, that is to say someone strong and intelligent, in the guise of actress Hailee Steinfeld. Like Bridgertonthe series is based on a modern soundtrack and a contemporary feminist subject.

THE SPANISH PRINCESS
The Spanish Princess follows the story of Catherine of Aragon, the princess of the Kingdom of Spain, who arrives in England to seal her union with Prince Arthur Tudor, to whom she is long-time engaged. The sudden disappearance of the latter a few weeks after the wedding will lead to the marriage of the princess with her younger brother, King Henry VIII.
