Good news for fans of The Bridgertons: the series has just been renewed for two more seasons by Netflix.
Netflix firmly believes in its period series The Chronicle of the Bridgertons since it has just renewed it for seasons 3 and 4 while the second is being filmed. This is Lady Whistledown who made the announcement.
The series produced by Shonda Rhimes was a huge success when it launched last December. If season 2 was at that time almost assured, this renewal well in advance remains a nice surprise.
Remember that Bridgerton is based on a collection of books written by Julia Quinn and that it is made up of 8 volumes. Each novel centers on one of the siblings of the siblings. If season 2 will be that of Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), we can safely say that the next one will focus on Benedict (Luke Thompson) and the one after the kind Colin (Luke Newton).
This good news comes shortly after the announcement of the departure of actor Regé-Jean Page. The latter had only signed for one season and will not appear in the next one, which is currently filming. But the main party has let it be known that he could possibly be back for the sequel.
