Discover this allusion of Loki in “Avengers” which finally finds its answer in “Black Widow”, a new Marvel film currently in theaters.
Black Widow, a new feature film from studio Marvel, is currently in French theaters, and tells a whole secret part of the story of Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson). If his childhood is approached from the opening sequence, the majority of the action takes place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
And one of the major characters of Black widow had been introduced way upstream in the MCU, in 2012. In Avengers, when Loki is prisoner and watched by Natasha Romanoff, he lets the young woman understand that he knows what she did to the “Dreykov’s daughter” :
Dreykov eventually appears in the flesh in Black widow, in the guise of Ray Winstone. Supervisor of the Red Chamber, Dreykov is the trainer and instigator of the Black Widow, a group of spies and hired killers. He is mostly the supervillain of the film centered on Natasha Romanoff.
We learn in the feature film that Dreykov has a daughter that Natasha tried to kill, Antonia (played by Olga Kurylenko). The latter survived and her body was transformed into the dreaded Taskmaster killer, blindly carrying out her father’s orders.
How did Loki get this information? Did Thanos investigate the Avengers before sending Thor’s half-brother to Earth?
Still, this reference to Dreykov, released in a 2012 film, finally finds its explanation nine years later. Isn’t that also the beauty of a connected universe?
