Black Adam: Pierce Brosnan will face Dwayne Johnson

Former Agent 007 performer Pierce Brosnan will face Dwayne Johnson in the DC movie Black Adam. The Irish actor will play Doctor Fate.

First superhero movie for Pierce Brosnan! The former James Bond interpreter will indeed play Doctor Fate in Black Adam, the Shazam spin-off worn by Dwayne Johnson.

Son of an archaeologist, Kent Nelson, aka Dr Fate, received the Helmet of Fate, which allows him to see the future of everyone he meets and to converse with Nabu, a mighty wizard of ancient Egypt. and thus have access to many spells.

Created by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman in 1940, Dr. Fate is one of DC’s oldest characters. He is part of the Justice Society, the first version of the Justice League, also created in 1940 and first appeared in the All-Star Comics #3.

Among the heroes of this group we can also count Flash (Jay Garrick, not Barry Allen who we know more), Green Lantern (Alan Scott, not Hal Jordan), Hawkman (played by Aldis Hodge in Black Adam), Lightning and Stargirl .

Black Adam with Dwayne Johnson: upcoming DC superhero film shoot

Black Adam will mark the Justice Society of America’s first foray into cinema, so Doctor Fate and his team are set to face Shazam’s nemesis.

Pierce Brosnan is the last key actor to join the cast of the feature film, which is due to start shooting within 3 weeks, as announced by Dwayne Johnson.

The actor and producer, who has been working on this project for 7 years, plays the anti-superhero Black Adam. Created in 1945 by Otto Binder and CC Beck, the character has evolved over the years to ultimately oscillate between good and evil.

The feature film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Esther, The Passenger) will soon be released in our cinemas.
