Before the release of Avatar: The Way of the Water in cinemas on December 14, Disney released James Cameron’s first opus in a remastered version this Wednesday. But since Wednesday, several spectators think of going to see the second opus in theaters…
Avatar 2: The Waterway hits theaters on December 14. In order to make the public wait and to refresh the memory of the spectators, james cameron wanted the first opus to come out in dark rooms. Broadcast since Wednesday, the film is a success since it prances at the top of the French box office with 39,866 admissions out of 344 prints for its 1st day of operation.
Released in 2009, Avatar revolutionized the 7th Art and is still today the record holder for box office receipts with 2.847 billion dollars internationally. The release of the feature film is therefore an event.
But some viewers have apparently not understood that it is the first film that is currently in theaters as these testimonials prove. And the tagline “Back to the cinema” present on the poster of the recovery was probably not enough (and even seems to confuse the public more).
Note, however, that the version of the 2009 film currently on offer is an unreleased remastered version enhanced with an exceptional 4K HDR image, as well as in a wide selection of immersive 2D and 3D formats. At the microphone of The Hollywood ReporterJames Cameron also advises young viewers who have never seen the film in theaters to go (re) discover it on the big screen: “Even though they think they’ve seen Avatar, they haven’t really enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised, not only by how well the film aged, but also how beautifully it looked in its remastered version.“.

Because Pandora’s atmosphere is toxic to humans, they created the Avatar Program, which allows human “pilots” to link their minds to an avatar, a remotely controlled biological body capable of surviving in this lethal atmosphere. An agent of the Megarama multiplex in Villeneuve-la-Garenne confirms at the microphone of AlloCiné that the majority of spectators think of coming to see The way of the water. When the ticket agents tell them that it is the first film, most spectators decide to go for another film.
