Despite the postponement to a still indefinite date and form of the Cannes Film Festival, Arte has chosen to maintain its special programming from May 10 to 27. Originally scheduled to accompany the 73rd edition of the festival, the channel will broadcast around thirty films, all of which have been broadcast on the Croisette. The Cannes Film Festival will therefore take place, as planned, in May on Arte for viewers!
On the program, a selection of feature and short films, distinguished or awarded, and film documentaries to celebrate the most prestigious of festivals dedicated to the 7th Art. From The Square by Ruben Östlund (Palme d’Or 2017) to The Man Who Knew Too Much by Alfred Hitchcock (Official Selection, Cannes 1956), the channel has concocted a rich program that will delight moviegoers.
Note: almost all of the films on the Cannes program will be available for replay on the ARTE website. But the channel will also offer numerous films exclusively digital, including Paranoid Park by Gus Van Sant, Riens du tout by Cédric Klapisch or La Belle Noiseuse by Jacques Rivette.
