The eagerly awaited zombie movie Army of the Dead by Zack Snyder is revealed in a first teaser. The horrific feature will be available on Netflix on May 21.
After staging many blockbusters on superheroes, from Watchmen to Man of Steel via Justice League, whose Director’s Cut of four hours is coming very soon, Zack Snyder abandons the genre to return to his first love with the horrific Army of the Dead, due on Netflix on May 21. Having made his debut with the remake of the cult Zombie by George A. Romero, Zack Snyder happily reunites with the living dead in this film which brings together Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Chris D’Elia, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Omari Hardwick and Hiroyuki Sanada.
While waiting to discover Army of the Dead, Zack Snyder has unveiled some images of the film as well as a poster on his Twitter account. Today, Netflix posted an explosive first teaser that heralds the color of the highly anticipated feature film by fans of zombie movies and Zack Snyder. Army of the Dead follows mercenaries who will attempt the coup of the century: enter a quarantine zone to carry out a spectacular heist as a horde of undead invades the streets of Las Vegas.
As a reminder, Army of the Dead will be the cornerstone of an extended universe on Netflix since two other projects are expected: a prequel, currently called Army of the Dead: International Prequel, written by Shay Hatten and directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, which was filmed in Germany with notably Jonathan Cohen in the cast, and an animated series spin-off entitled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, a origin story centered on the character played by Dave Bautista, who will be headed by Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns), with the first two episodes directed by Zack Snyder.
