As he prepares to reveal his “Justice League” director’s cut, director Zack Snyder has revealed that his zombie film “Army of the Dead” will be released on Netflix on May 21st.
“Survivor takes all” (“the one who survives pockets the stake”, in French), such is the catchphrase of Army of the Dead, the new feature film from Zack Snyder (Justice League). While a first teaser will be unveiled this Thursday, the director has announced the release date for his heist film against a backdrop of zombie invasion: May 21 on Netflix. The lead roles in this big budget ($ 90 million) production are played by Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell and Ana de la Reguera.
Remember that this is not Zack Snyder’s first foray into the universe of the living dead. Before specializing in the adaptation of comic books for the cinema (300, Watchmen, Batman v Superman…), The director made his debut with a remake of George A. Romero’s cult Zombie renamed to us… Army of the Dead! Of course, this is just a coincidence, and Army of the Dead It will therefore neither be a sequel nor a spin-off of this very first feature film. A prequel and an animated series have nevertheless been ordered by Netflix, thus suggesting the expansion ofArmy of the Dead franchise!
Army of the Dead is to be discovered exclusively on Netflix from May 21.
