While “Ant-Man and the Wasp” was broadcast Sunday night on TF1, focus on these Hollywood stars who almost played in the two films starring the Marvel superhero.
Recently broadcast on TF1, Ant-Man and its sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp could have offered very different castings. Many Hollywood stars have indeed been approached over the months to be part of these miniature adventures.
The main role of Scott Lang was thus offered to Adrien Brody, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ewan McGregor before Paul Rudd was finally chosen. The name of Simon Pegg, when his accomplice Edgar Wright was still at the helm of the film, has also been cited to slip into the skin of the Marvel superhero.
The character of the Wasp, held on the screen by the Canadian Evangeline Lilly, could have been played by Emma Stone, who would then have played a new super-heroic “love interest” after The Amazing Spider-Man. More fun, the role could also have gone to Rashida Jones, who would have been Paul Rudd’s companion once again after the movie I Love You, Man!
However, it was Jessica Chastain who was the closest to don the Wasp costume, but she declined the offer because she was not entirely satisfied with the script. The American then said a second time “no” to Marvel, after being offered the role of Maya Hansen in Iron Man 3 (finally played by Rebecca Hall).
