Lady Jaye, the undercover agent of the GI Joe universe, will be entitled to her solo series on Prime Video
According to our colleagues from Deadline, a series derived from the GI Joe universe with at its center the character of Lady Jaye – played by Adrianne Palicki in the film GI Joe: Conspiracy in 2013 – is in development at Amazon. It is not yet known whether Adrianne Palicki will reprise her role in the Amazon series or whether another actress will be chosen.
The series will focus on Lady Jaye who will have her own story, within the universe of GI Joe. The character of Jaye first appeared in 1984 in the animated series. She was subsequently entitled to her figurine before being introduced in the comics.
Erik Oleson, currently working on the second season of Carnival Row, will be its creator, showrunner and executive producer, alongside Lorenzo DiBonaventura. In the past, Oleson has shown series such as Arrow, The Man In the High Castle or the third season of Daredevil.
An upcoming film in the GI Joe franchise, Snake Eyes, is due out later this year with Henry Golding in the title role and Ursula Corbero from La Casa de Papel.
