Alex Trebek’s Last Jeopardy! Show Airs, Daughter Pays Tribute
Alex Trebekdaughter of Nicky trebek took to social media to honor her dad after his final Danger! episode aired.
The beloved game show host died at age 80 in November following a long battle with pancreatic cancer and just 10 days after filming his last episode. Originally his last Danger! the episode was scheduled to air on Christmas Day, but it was postponed to Friday, January 8. Alex is survived by his wife Jean Trebek, their two children Emilie and Matthew and Nicky, whom he helped raise when he was married to an ex-wife Elaine Trebek Kare, and who worked as Danger! production coordinator.
“@jeopardy #jeopardyforever #wemissyoudad,” Nicky wrote on Instagram Friday night. “You were amazing !!! #instagram.”
Nicky, who celebrated her 55th birthday that day, also reposted on her Instagram Story a video montage of Alex hosting Danger! which was shared on the show’s social media accounts, as well as a screenshot from the music video show that shows him from behind exiting the set and pumping his fist, Breakfast club movie style. She wrote: “We miss you dad.”
