Broadcast on Hulu in the US at the end of 2020, A Teacher will be unveiled on CANAL + from Thursday, April 22. Created by Hannah Fidell, this mini-series tackles the sensitive subject of the forbidden love between a teacher and her student. A story that the director has already told through a film of the same name, presented at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013.

Awarded at the Champs-Elysées Film Festival and at the South by Southwest in Austin, this feature film is given a new skin through this series produced by FX and counting on an impeccable cast.

Headlining is Kate Mara (House of Cards) as Claire, the new English teacher at Westerbrook, a suburban high school in Texas. In front of her, Nick Robinson (Love, Simon) plays Eric, one of the most popular students as football captain of the establishment’s team.

Installed in a couple that no longer suits her with her childhood sweetheart, Claire sees her life change when Eric approaches her to prepare for her university entrance exam. Between the two then begins a pernicious game of seduction which marks the beginning of a destructive relationship, for them and those around them.

Exploring here the oh so delicate and serious theme of the abuse of power and intimate relationships between an adult and a minor, Hannah Fidell took care to work with therapists and specialists to give birth to A Teacher. A fiction produced with finesse and skill, in which we also find Ashley Zukerman (Succession), Shane Harper (High School Musical 2), or Rya Kihlstedt (Dexter). To discover on CANAL + from April 22, 2021.
