Is it too much to ask for?
I’m talking about someone finally inventing a hoverboard like the one Marty McFly rode in Back to the Future Part II that we’d all be able to zoom around town on.
What are we waiting for?!?!
That’s the invention I’d like to see in my lifetime.
What’s yours?
Here’s how AskReddit users responded.
“After the passing of my mother due to cancer, I’d like for there to be a way to cure others of it.
I miss her a lot.”
“Fusion energy.
I just read today that they are close to a breakthrough.
Imagine a world of limitless energy with no pollution effect or shortage.”
“A machine that feeds on the pollution (air, water, land) and makes better air, stabilizes the atmosphere, the land and the water habitats.
And that also makes biodegradable objects with the physical pollution.”
“Teleportation devices.
Then I can WFH in peace and when my boss “needs” me in the office for something: boom, I’m there.”
“Cybernetics would be amazing.
Always wanted to be a cyborg…”
“Something that eliminates all debt, resets all economies, and equalizes wealth for all, so we can stop f**king each other over for money, and start doing things we like, for each other, and living beautiful lives.
Put it in a box with a button on it, if you want.”
“As a kidney transplant recipient, I would love to see cloned organs so that people can get a new organ that is a perfect match, and does not require anti rejection medication.”
“I want to see the parts for manufacturing electric cars and other devices break the gap of lack of efficiency to beat gas engines.
Right now we pollute way more making batteries for electric cars than we do making combustion engines.
If we can turn that tide, I think things will get better.”
“Nuclear fusion.
Imagine the world we could have if electricity became cheap and abundantly available.
Think of the progress our species could achieve if the poorest places got cheap and reliable source of electricity!”

“Human-only gravity control in our homes.
Like climate control, but for your joints and muscles.
Sore from work? As soon as you get home, turn the gravity down.”
“Self driving vehicle fleet, robust enough there is no need to own one.
Simply order a vehicle when you need it.
Less accidents, traffic, environmental deterioration. More of your time and money back.”
“Growing genetically compatible anything.
Lost an arm? No problem. Need a new full set of teeth? Coming right up!
Has cancer/radiation destroyed certain aspects of your body?
No problem, get a new ____ in a few days time.”
